As we roll into 2025, our Southeast team continues to grow and win new business. Please take a few moments to read the two market outlooks written by our Regional Vice Presidents, Mark Mobberley of Charleston, and Derrick Jernigan of Atlanta.
Charleston, SC
In recent years, Charleston has continued to hold a spot in the fastest-growing cities in the United States. A city rich in history and culture, some of the nation’s top restaurants, beautiful beaches, and world-class golf resorts, it is no surprise that the top industry in Charleston is hospitality. One sector that may come as a surprise, though, is the growing manufacturing industry amongst groups like Boeing ($1B investment in 2025), Mercedes ($500M investment in 2025), and Scout Motors ($2B New manufacturing plant 2025).
Our team has completed a wide range of projects from education to healthcare, and we are excited to announce that we have been awarded our first Mission Critical project with Holder Construction. This will be the first Data Center project for the Charleston team with a projected minimum of 5 additional years of Mission Critical work in the area. Through the team’s stellar performance in the field, and continued relationship building, our 1st quarter sales have exceeded 2024 overall and we are in a great position for continued growth and success.
Atlanta, GA
The construction market in Atlanta continues to show robust growth, particularly in the Mission Critical sector. The demand for data centers remains high, driven by the increasing reliance on digital infrastructure and cloud services. This trend is expected to persist, with Atlanta becoming a key hub for data center projects due to its strategic location and favorable business environment. The city’s educated workforce and innovation hubs, such as Georgia Tech’s Tech Square, will continue to attract high-tech companies and foster economic development.
We recently completed of our first interiors project with HITT Contracting, Assurance America’s renovated office in downtown Atlanta. The quantity, size, and complexity of bid opportunities for our interiors division suggest an Atlanta office market that appears to be on the rebound. We are excited to announce that we have started mobilizing out at one of our data centers in the area. One of the largest contracts in the company's history, this project marks a huge milestone for both Rock Spring as a whole, and our Southeast team as they solidify their presence in the Atlanta market.
2025 promises to be a year of significant growth and opportunity for Rock Spring Contracting. With a booming market for data centers and a favorable economic environment, we are well-positioned to achieve our growth objectives and continue delivering exceptional value to our clients.
